The degree in journalism is offered by the internationally respected Medill School of Journalism. Since 1921, Medill has epitomized excellence in journalism and journalism education in the United States and it is doing the same today in Qatar.
The bachelor's degree program is 32 units of coursework, usually completed over four years. Our curriculum ensures that students become skilled not only in writing, reporting, editing, production, and critical thinking, but also in using multiple platforms so that they can create compelling, high-impact stories for interactive audiences. All students receive a comprehensive liberal arts education across many different subjects. Students can choose among various classes offered in history, economics, literature, political science, business, and more.
Small class sizes at NU-Q offer individualized attention from faculty.
Beginning sophomore year, student can cross-register for courses at other Education City universities.
Our "learn by doing" philosophy extends beyond the classroom. During junior year, students participate in a 10-week internship at a media organization, often outside of Qatar.
Each student works one-on-one with a dedicated academic adviser to determine a course plan.
