Abir Maarouf

As purchasing coordinator, Abir Maarouf manages NU-Q's QBuy system and is the primary contact for the campus purchase order database. She works with the purchasing supervisor in contacting suppliers to resolve missed deliveries, short shipments and pricing discrepancies. She also provides procurement advice to NU-Q departments and support in preparing RFQs and RFPs.

Prior to NU-Q, Maarouf was a student information officer at College of the North Atlantic in Qatar, and administrative assistant at Georgetown University in Qatar. She has also held positions at various banks in Doha and Dubai. Maarouf has a BA in business administration from Ajman University, UAE and an MA in international business from University of Cumbria, U.K. She is a Certified International Purchasing Professional (CIPP). In 2010, she completed a Northwestern University "Acquiring Goods and Services" training program. Maarouf is a member of the American Purchasing Society and International Academy of Project Management.
