In recognition of their academic excellence during the fall term last year, Northwestern University in Qatar has announced the names of 26 students who have earned the distinction of being placed on the Dean’s List.
John Margolis, dean of Northwestern University’s Qatar campus, said, “Inclusion on the Dean’s List signifies a student’s outstanding achievement in course work during the past semester. We are proud of the wonderful work of our talented students and are pleased by their commitment to their studies at Northwestern.”
Only top ranked students are named to the dean’s list each semester. To receive the academic distinction, a student must have a grade point average of at least 3.75.
Hattan Al-Thani, a third year student in the communication program, was among those to receive the distinction. “It’s a good way to be recognized for all of the effort you put in,” she said. “This was one of my best semesters and I really liked my professors and my classes. When you have really good professors, as we do, you will work even harder to achieve excellence.”
