NU-Q will host major events on April 30 and May 1.
The first event will be the university’s sixth graduation ceremony – and the first to held in the new building. There will be 47 students graduating from NU-Q.
The ceremony will be held in the Events Hall adjacent to the Forum with a live stream being shown in the Auditorium.
A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony in the Forum.
The graduation speaker will be best-selling author and senior editor at The Atlantic Derek Thompson. Thompson, a Northwestern alum, is the author of Hit Makers: The Science of Popularity in an Age of Distraction, which discusses the factors essential to creating viral content.
The following day, NU-Q will welcome faculty, staff, and guests to a ceremony marking the building’s official dedication. The dedication is being held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception following in the Forum.
